Roberto Scalzone Cup

In 1973 the Melbourne Gun Club hosted its first ever International event the World Moving Target Championships.

In this event Angelo Scalzone competed for Italy. Attached you will find some newspaper clippings from this marvellous event that was hosted on our grounds.

Next year on the dates January 4th & 5th our club is privileged to host a memorial event for Roberto Scalzone (Angelo’s son) on our grounds where shooters from all nations are invited to compete in the Roberto Scalzone Cup.

Making the trek from Italy will be Roberto’s son (also named Angelo) so we look forward to again having a Scalzone compete on our grounds.

As international entries come in we will be purchasing flags of that nation to fly during the championships. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page to see photos of the flags as they arrive.

Don’t forget there are some great prizes for the Roberto Scalzone Cup for shooters who pre nom before December 1!! So if you plan to shoot it make sure we have your entry nice and early.
