Flood Recovery Update 15th November 2022

Many hours of volunteer time last week was spent on the clean up of the Club rooms, office, storage, kitchen, bar, fridges, toilets, walls and windows.  This was not a simple job of just pressure cleaning, but a dirty job of the removal of muddy flood and septic water from floors, fridges, cupboards, walls, toilets, you name it, the water has seeped in everywhere, and the mud was stuck to everything.  All the carpet was removed and the existing concrete floors were ground off to remove glue and mud from the slab.  All flood ruined furniture, cabinetry, office supplies etc were thrown out, and anything which could be salvaged was placed outside undercover. Further, a working bee was held on Saturday 12th November.  Thank you to everyone who attended, it was great to  have members and guests helping out, with a good chunk of work being done cleaning sheds, cool rooms and tables and chairs etc
For our return to competition we are hoping to be back for will be our Xmas Shoot on Saturday 10th of December (fingers crossed) even if it is in a reduced format.
For now we wait for the grounds and club rooms to dry out, our traps to be repaired, Rich to continue with the power and Paul to continue on with repairing the electronics, and Lynden with DTL trap repairs. Once these jobs are all done we will then move on to returning the traps back in and hoping everything works!!In the meantime, tireless work is being done in the background with the maintenance of pumps to ensure that the water is continually being pumped out of the site.  Many thanks to those who are managing all the pumps.
Another big shout out goes to Bronze Wing Australia for their amazing support of flood affected gun clubs like ours.
Not only is BRONZEWING donating $1 from every slab sold Australia wide until further notice, they also have some great offers for clubs that have suffered devastation from rising waters.
On Friday they arranged to pick up 28 of our submerged traps in order to assist us in bringing them back to life. The relief on Lynden’s face when he was told that a large portion of the traps will be taken care of said it all! A team of electrical engineers and electricians have been arranged to work together to place our traps in baking room to dry out. They will ensure their safety and any electrical parts will be replaced gratis.
What an amazing offer from an amazing company who’s top priority is to support the shooting community.
It is great to see both Gun Clubs and Companies within the industry all looking out for each other
Thank you Bronzewing and remember to support the companies that support our clubs and shooters!!
