Flood update Monday 21st November 2022 (please note that the club remains closed)

Over the last week things have been ticking along nicely.  We just need the rain to stop!!!
While the bulk of the trap machines have been taken by the good people at Bronze Wing Australia to be repaired, Lynden and Ants have been hard at it on our DTL machines and have now got 2 machines up and working.  Well done guys!!!
Rich & Dean have been looking after the power and we now have power restored back to layouts 1-2-3 & 4.  Dean has also been successful in getting our cool room back in operation which I am sure many of you will agree is one of the first priorities an iced cold beer for when we are back open!!  The bar fridges and the cafe drinks fridge are also up and running.  The clubhouse, toilets, office and noms areas have all been cleaned of flood water and cleared out ready to go.
Rog took advantage on Saturday before the rain hit to give the place a mow bringing his own mower with him while ours is out of action being repaired.  While there are still plenty of muddy swampy areas inside the grounds that couldn't be mowed its amazing how much better the place does look now with the grass cut.
Paul has been tirelessly sorting thru all our electronics finding out what's working, what can be fixed and what can't.  We have just ordered and replaced 40 microphone heads and 2 sets of Skeet BRB sets.  Thank you goes to Dean Crouch from Top Shot Industries as Dean was fortunate enough to have these all on hand and has looked after us as best he can with these items being sent ASAP to us so we can be open sooner rather than later.
Shorey has been able to clear all our drainage systems which were fully blocked from all the river silt and other crap!!!  They are now all flowing and we are looking at ways to improve the drainage within our club.  It's important in times like these to learn what needs to be rectified for any future events to ensure we can keep damage and loss to a minimum.
Unfortunately the weather just doesn't let up!!!!  We copped 40mm of rain in the area on Sunday night and another 35mm of rain Saturday night.  We lost power at the club for most of yesterday.  This has set us back a bit as the rain last Sunday night combined with the blocked drains saw the ISSF Trench Layouts fill with water again.  With the water table so high and the weather so unpredictable we will hold off putting Trench traps back in until the river drops.
Saturday nights rain will see the river once again rise to around the Moderate Flood level meaning access again will be restricted. We are at a point where we could soon open for some practice we just need the water over the road to drop!!
This is the longest anyone can remember water being over Victoria Rd constantly as it has now been 5 weeks non stop!!
Fingers crossed we can get in and start making some noise soon!!!
