Melbourne Gun Club are proud to announce the GARRY BENNETT PERPETUAL CUP.
Garry started the Lilydale High School program at Melbourne Gun Club way back in 2007. This program has seen many Australian Junior Representatives come through such as Jack Wallace, Will Smithwick, Jack Clerke and more recently Ben De Pedro.
In 2014 with the influence of Darren White, the Yarra Valley School Championships were born and became Garry’s “baby” with an event that has grown and grown despite the hurdles of Covid and schools becoming more and more stringent on school sports days especially for Clay Target Shooting.
To honour Garry for all his tireless work he has put in over the years we are pleased to announce that from 2026 students at the Yarra Valley School Championships will be competing for the “Garry Bennett Perpetual Cup” where all winners names since the event started in 2014 have been included on the trophy.
We cannot thank Garry enough for the time and effort he has put into not only our club but school competition within the zone and state!
