With the weather forecast of 20-40mm in the area the committee were sceptical if anyone would be keen to venture out to compete today but 8 Squads of DTL and 5 full squads of Universal Trench took the risk. This added to the 20 people who came for a Come & Try for the morning all enjoying their first go at shooting Clay Targets.
In the Universal Trench it was Nathan Cassells and Vinnie Mollica who set the pace with both shooters recording a fantastic 99/100. Nathan hitting the first 75 straight missing one in his last round and Vinnie doing the opposite 24 in his first round and 75 clean to come home. Both boys happy to split and share the spoils. Well shot boys
The morning started off as humid as we had ever felt it at MGC and just a few minutes outside felt like you had just got back for a swim!!! The 3 split systems in the club rooms made it the place to be but the rain held off for the first 2 DTL events all but one heavy downpour that only lasted 5 minutes.
Peter Reed took the spoils in the first DTL event whch was a 30tgt Points and has now gone from B to A grade. Well done Peter!!! But from then on it was Troy Grimes from Morwell who showed us all how its done collecting both the Single Barrel and the Double Barrel events beating Dad in some heavy rainfall that came down just in time for the shoot off.
Congratulations also goes to Neil Carstairs and Tom Caldwell for being graded C to B!! Well done guys
