Results 2nd November 2019 – Doug Menara Memorial

On Saturday 2nd of November we held a very special Skeet event at Melbourne Gun Club in honour of Doug "Dougie" Menara who we sadly lost earlier this year.

Despite the terrible weather (24mm of rain from 9am onwards) a great crowd of 6 full squads turned up to compete in the event. A tribute to how well liked Doug was as both a member of the MGC and also a very handy Skeet competitor in his day.

Doug's daughter Jenny was also in attendance and a big thank you to Jen for her sponsorship of the event and some money on the bar for all to have a drink for Doug on the completion of the days shooting.

A big congratulations to Leigh Roberts on his fine shooting in trying conditions recording a very well shot 99/100 to take home the Doug Menara sash and $250 cash!!!

Also congratulations to young Liam Shore shooting only his 3rd comp of Skeet and recording his first ever 25!! Well done Liam

Thank you to everyone for making yesterday such a great day at the club despite the poor weather.

Thank you to all the workers for the day who helped set targets, ref and score in the rain and help keep the events running smoothly.

We hope everyone had a great day. It was great to have 6 squads of Skeet competitors again competing at MGC and we hope to see it continue in events to come.
