News and results of the Christmas Shoot – Saturday 9th December 2023

RAIN RAIN RAIN
Before we do the report on who won all the hams at yesterday’s Xmas Shoot how good was last night's meal!
A meal like this to put on for our members and guests doesn’t just happen.  A lot of work behind the scenes goes into this costing approximately $2300, however it is an important part of our Xmas shoot for us as a club to get together and thank everyone for all their support during the year.
A massive shout out to Lou Primavera who took on the role of head chef this year after the sad passing of Jimmy Turner who we are all still sadly missing. Lou didn’t hesitate to put his hand up for the job and everything was cooked to perfection. Thanks Lou
Helping Hands Kitchen Staff for doing all the food prep, the serving and the cleaning up. What a team they are and we are pleased to have them locked in again for our 3 Day shoot in February (and will be booking them for next year's Xmas shoot and 3 day shoot!!). If you have a party or function and need some hired staff, be sure to contact them you won’t be disappointed.  Thanks to Tasty Az for again supplying us with the delicious fresh salads. Tasty Az is a community based, not for profit, catering and hospitality social enterprise, delivering education, work place training, work experiences, pathways to supported employment and NDIS recognised programs for young people living with disability. Their salads are always a big hit and super fresh and we are happy we can support a great community program.
Hillard's Roasting Spits, BBQ's, Hiring and Catering Service for again supplying us with their Spits to cook the amazing pork and beef supplied by Mario's Meats
It’s great that we can support local businesses.
And finally the biggest thanks goes to our members and guests for supplying the amazing desserts and for all of your support in 2023!
Results:
That was the theme of the day for our Xmas Shoot on Saturday, however it did not dampen the sports of the 7 squads who entered the Skeet events and the 12 squads who entered the DTL events.
If you had seen the weather forecast and woke up on Saturday morning to the weather and decided not to attend we do not blame you!! However all who attended had a fantastic time and we thank you for coming out despite the weather to support the day.
The Skeet got under way right on time and running it first on all the grounds proved again to be a much easier way to run our Xmas Shoot with all squads completed around Midday giving us time to have some DTL grounds open for practice and for our ladies Taipan Shield team to do their thing! Thanks to Liz, Lou, Leni, Amanda, Aimee and Sarah for representing the club in this event!!!

A special present was also awarded from the committee to Paul Schroeter who the last 12 months has done an amazing job not just as secretary but repairing all the clubs electronics that were damaged during the floods we had. Thanks Paul.
As per previous post the dinner was fantastic and enjoyed by all.
