Weekly DTL Competition Report
Saturday, 31 October 2026
Another great Saturday at Melbourne Gun Club, and once again the weather forecast turned out to be considerably worse than the actual conditions!
After some rain during the morning, we made the decision to delay the start of shooting by 30 minutes. Apart from one rather large storm that rolled through for around 20 minutes, during which all shooting was suspended, everyone managed to stay dry and we were able to get through the day’s competition without too much trouble.
COME & TRY DAY
We had a full Come & Try session in the morning, with plenty of new faces getting the opportunity to experience clay target shooting for the first time.
It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves, and by all accounts, there were plenty of smiles and some very enthusiastic new shooters!
A huge thank you to Jacqui, Laurie, Leonie and Adrian for giving up their time and assisting with the Come & Try program. These sessions are a great way to introduce new people to our sport and showcase what Melbourne Gun Club has to offer. We really appreciate your help and enthusiasm!

A BIG THANK YOU!
As always, a great day at the club doesn’t happen without the many people who put in their time behind the scenes.
A very big thank you to Gerald and the gang in the cafe for putting on another fantastic spread. The food as always is terrific, and having a great meal and somewhere to catch up with fellow shooters is all part of what makes our club such a wonderful place to spend a Saturday.
Thank you also to everyone who helped out around the club, assisted with the day’s shooting and, of course, all those who came along to support the competition.
Thanks again to everyone for your continued support of Melbourne Gun Club. We look forward to seeing you all back at the club next Saturday!
