For something different and a bit of fun and to celebrate July 4th and celebrate 250 years, a bit of a USA theme day was held with 100tgt SB shot 5 per lane and 100tgt Skeet.
5 squads of shooters for DTL and 2 squads of Skeet saw the day's events underway just as a heavy shower decided to come through.
Shooting 5 per lane in the DTL sure made the squads fly through a bit quicker and due to a confusion with our trappers not turning up a big thanks goes to Nathan Naylor who jumped in and filled traps while he was shooting. Despite shooting as well we never once had to wait for a machine to be filled or had a machine go empty. So thank you Nathan for a job well done!! It was greatly appreciated (Rich will still take half your pay for not filling the Skeet though
).
Shooters in the DTL also had the option if they just wanted to shoot for a medal or shoot for prize money by paying extra for a purse. This proved to be popular with a good number of shooters happy to shoot for a cheaper entry!
After the 100t in the Single Barrel we had the following winners:
AA: Jason Barclay 94/100; Riley Hughes Gage 90/100
A: Damien Appleby 92/100; Adrian Wright 88/100
B: Malcolm Carr 91/100; Geoff McLure 87/100
C: Leon Tonks 85/100; Brian Battle 77/103
We also put a 20t Mixed Meterage on with the following winners:
1. Damien Appleby
2. Adrian Wright
3. Jason Barclay
Over on the skeet layouts we had the following results
AA: Daniel Sacchetta 96/100; Richard Sammon 94/100
A: Colin Finn 95/100; Theo Sarris 94/100
C: Adam Bethune 64/100; Brendan De Schwartz 60/100
In the Skeet, a buddy team shoot was also held where a B or C grade shooter was drawn with a AA or A shooter with their score over the last 25 to count. As we only had the two C graders, and to give everyone a chance of being in a team we put a C grader in each squad and used their last round of 25 with the best score of 25 in the last round from all the other A’s and AA’s in their respective squad to create a bit of encouragement and fun!
The winning combination went to Daniel Sacchetta and Adam Bethune well done guys!
A 25t Doubles Handicap was also held with the following results:
1. Daniel Sacchetta
2 . Peter Finn
3. Richard Sammon
Thanks also goes to Liz and Paul for the decorations which looked great, and it was also great to have so many people comment what a good fun day it was with something different.
Next weekend's competition is as follows:
50tgt Point Score
50tgt Double Barrel
75tgt ISSF Trap + Final (top
See you all next weekend!!!
