A nice sunny day for once greeted shooters at MGC and for the first time in weeks only a gentle breeze instead of the gale force winds we have experienced.
8 squads making up 44 shooters for the day competed in the 2 DTL events up for offer in the 50t Points and 50t Double Barrel.
In the first event the 50t Points it was Damien Appleby again taking the honours of OA with a well shot 146/150 from Greg Hunt. Tom Caldwell shooting well to take out A grade and Mal Carr winning a short and sweet shoot off in B grade! C grade it was the girls taking the spoils with Lou Tingate taking first and Chloe Hughes-Gage taking second.
50T PS
OA & AA: D Appleby 146/150, G Hunt 145/150;
A: T Caldwell 144/150, L Primavera 157/165;
B: M Carr 143/153, K Archibald 140/153;
C: L Tingate 120/150, C Hughes-Gage 118/150
The 50t Double Barrel saw the breeze pick up a little from behind causing the odd target to keep low. We had 3 possible 50/50’s and a heap of 49’s with a few of the 49’s missing with only a couple of targets to go.
Steve Incani and Mark Coleman settled in to shoot over 100 with Steve taking the honours with 104/104. The A grade shoot off was an interesting affair with Paul Haslam missing and on his way back to the car only to be called back with the next 2 shooters both missing the same target. Paul then going on to teach them a lesson taking it out with 83/85. Mick Rocca and Geoff McClure shooting off for B grade also on 49 with Mick taking the win. And the biggest cheer was for C grade with young Chloe Hughes Gage taking her first win with a very well shot 46/50 defeating Spello! Well done Chloe!!
