10th Anniversary Yarra Valley Championship

The 10th Anniversary of the Yarra Valley DTL Champions was a huge success at the club on the weekend gone. The highlight of the weekend belonging to James Saliba shooting the whole weekend clean. If you hadn't heard of James before you sure will know him now!!

Fridays' events kicked off in some tricky overcast, cool and windy conditions which saw shooting difficult. A big thank you to Shoot-Off Monde and Shoot Off Australia + New Zealand for their magnificant sponsorship of this event. Some amazing prizes up for grabs and a large crowd of 21 squads entered. Thank you Simone Tigani Tannous and Pierre Boutin for your generous support. It was greatly appreciated

Day 2 kicked off with some better conditions and the red ink started to hit the board. The first event the single barrel was kindly sponsored by Custom Choc (Peter Wood), the 2nd event the point score by Kaymar (Rod Jackson) and the last event of the day the Bendigo Bank Mooroolbark Double Barrel which saw 42 possibles and the shoot off carry over to Sunday morning with a score of 230/230 shot to win.

Saturday night was a free meal to all shooters and their families. Thats right free to everyone!!! Roast Pork, Beef and Venison on the spit cooked by Jim Turner and wasnt it magnificent!! Plenty of fresh salads to go with it. Thanks to Neil Roberts for supplying the Venison. A great night had that lasted a little longer for some than it should!! A few sore heads in the morning. Thank you to all the ladies who helped prepare the salads and everyone who helped set up and pack up.

Sunday kicked off and perfect weather again and the SASAA - Home & Commercial Security Systems Point Score courtesy of Hayden & Vicki Stafford saw 12 possibles recorded. The 2nd event for the day was the Melbourne Gun Club Handicap with $1000 cash up for grabs taken out by Quinn Roberts. Great shooting Quinn!! The last event of the day the Bronze Wing Australia - NSI Australia - Laporte Australia Medley thanks to Anna Shedrina for her continued support of our club.

The Junior High Gun Cup was sponsored by Yarra Valley Rides and was won by Troy Grimes. Thank you Scott & Carmel from Yarra Valley Rides.

Full Results with photos are attached. We must also thank the efforts of all the committee and members in their help for the weekend and the weeks leading into this shoot. It is a lot of behind the scenes work to make it happen and it all went like clock work.

Thank you to Lynden and Ants for their work on the traps which worked flawlessy all weekend. And thank you to Karen Hutchinson for the neatest scorebard you will see and also Noel Bienvenu for his tireless efforts in helping run squad sheets and writing scores on the board with Karen it was greatly appreciated.
