What a ripper weekend we had at MGC on the weekend
147 shooters on the Saturday for the Zone Carnival and another 63 shooters on Sunday for our Club DTL Championships to make a 2 day shoot for shooters to enjoy!
Sunday's events were sponsored by Bronze Wing Australia with an amazing 17 slabs fully donated to the club from Bronzewings flood appeal where $1 from every slab sold over 3 months went to a number of clubs who suffered in last years flooding events. We simply can’t thank Bronzewing enough not only for the support at our club but shooting sports in general. Our sport is in debt to sponsors such as Bronzewing.
The weather forecast all week wasn't in our favour but we were in luck! The rain missed us all day and just as the shooters walked off the tracks for the DB shoot off down it came! Perfect timing.
The new GRAND PRIX 24 Clay was used for the weekend and we must say we are very impressed with this target and we will slowly be making the change across to it. It was pleasing to hear so much positive feedback over the 2 days.
The first event for the day was a 40t Point Score and while no possibles were shot we had Andrew Brady and Damien Milhuisen on 119/120 battle it out in the shoot off with Andrew coming out on top after another 7 targets

Onto the next event which saw some red on the board 9 possibles on the board enter into the shoot off for the 20t Single Barrel. A further 19 targets and we had President Ben Reed come out on top. Ben has been putting plenty of hours of work in at the club and also behind the scenes so a very well deserved win! Well done Ben

The last event of the day was the 40tgt DB and the scoreboard had lots of red on it. A total of 12 shooters shooting the 40/40 and entering the shoot off. Riley continued his great form in C grade taking the honours and for the OA it became a battle between Andrew Brady and Greg Hipwell with Hippy continuing his amazing form from the USA to get the job done and take the 3 slabs of Bronzewing ammo!! Well done Hippy

So concluded a big weekend at the club. We must thank all those who helped out over the weekend particularly Dean Naylor for helping out late Friday night to try help power issues when a couple of grounds went down with no power due to water getting into some plugs. All the help is greatly appreciated from all members and guests.
This weekend is Field & Game at the club come along and have a shot with them and give it a try if you haven’t already!!! Otherwise we will see you back at the club on Saturday 28th for DTL and ISSF Trench competitions.
