A cold and foggy start to the day saw a full house turn up again for Come & Try with some great feedback from all who attended. Massive thanks goes to the crew who look after this for us which includes being at the club super early to have the machines etc all ready to go. It is greatly appreciated.
A nervous start for Gerald with it being that cold the gas lines had frozen up a bit, this goes on top of us having a water issue on Friday with Roger & Ben staying back at the club until 8pm Friday night to have it rectified so the days shoot could go ahead. The behind the scenes work of running a club (specially a large one) never ends!!
By the time competition had got underway we had perfect conditions for the 100tgt Jean & Peter Wray ISSF Trench Cup which saw 6 full squads of 36 shooters enter the day's program which saw us give all 3 of our grounds a run. This was appreciated by the shooters with the final all completed by 4:30pm.
This event continues to grow and was first held in 2009 to thank the efforts of both Jean & Peter Wray for their work in ISSF at MGC. This year's event was taken out by Craig Henwood with a 92/100 and 46/50 in the final defeating Ash Hawker. We must thank Bronzewing Australia for their support.
