Melbourne Gun Club – Shoot Report Saturday 8th August 2026
Saturday 8th August saw another good day of shooting at Melbourne Gun Club. It was a coolish winter day with strong breezes, providing some challenging conditions for competitors throughout the day. Thankfully, we managed to stay dry, which was a bonus!
Although the crowd was relatively quiet, the competition on the ranges was strong, with 4 squads of Universal Trench (UT) and 3 squads of DTL taking to the ranges.
Universal Trench – 100 Targets
The UT program saw 22 nominated shooters compete across the various grades, with some excellent scores recorded despite the strong breeze.

Ethan Arkintstall, Mildura – 85/100A special congratulations to Ethan Arkintstall, who took out the Junior prize as well as finishing 2nd in B Grade. Ethan was also the recipient of the slab of Stealth Stingray ammunition generously donated by Noel Bienvenu for the best Junior in the UT.

Come & Try
We also had a full house for our Come & Try session, which was a fantastic result. The session went extremely well, with everyone getting the opportunity to experience clay target shooting in a safe and welcoming environment.
